Sweet Revenge

Sweet Revenge
Being newly 21, I have a hard time finding new things to drink, or drinks to try at the bar. After all, I don't want to spend money on something I might not like. Most of my friends are beer drinkers. I just can't stand the taste the beer myself for some reason, (though I will drink a good cold Coors Light every now and again). So that leads me to why I am starting this blog. To help people try new drinks, or to just help people find good, simple, drink recipes.

So, I figure I'd start with a newer alcohol that was released just in 2012.

Sweet revenge is a blended sour mash whiskey with  strawberry and citrus flavors, but don't be intimidated by the liquor's pink color. This liquor is 77 proof, and tastes so good you can't even tell that it's alcohol, which in turn can lead some to become extremely drunk.

But the great thing about this type of alcohol is, you barely feel hungover the next day.

Sweet revenge is usually served as a shot, or on the rocks with ice.

I've seen this type of alcohol in different liquor stores ever since I first turned 21 back in November. I won't lie. The pink color of it naturally made me want to buy it, but I was never sure what it quite was, and didn't want to spend twenty dollars on something I might dislike.

I was lucky enough to just happen to be at a casino where the sweet revenge girls were at. They were giving away free shots, free shirts, and had drink specials the whole night for sweet revenge.

When they asked my boyfriend and I if we wanted to try a free shot, the answer was obvious.

Of course we would! After all, who wouldn't take a free shot?

We smirked slightly at each other, (after all, we hadn't really planned on drinking all that much,) clinged our shot glasses together, and downed the shot.

As the liquor slid down my throat, there was no burn, it was just sweet. It didn't taste like alcohol at all!

And I loved it, (as did my boyfriend.)

Later on I asked the bartenders what they usually mix with it.

Sprite, Seven Up, Sierra Mist, and lemonade all go great with this liquor.

Lemonade was my personal favorite, however. It literally tasted like pink lemonade.

So there you have it. My first blog. I know it's probably not the best, but I hope you enjoyed it.
